new year

Gotta love the start of a new school year!

All the staff (minus Fanfan, Junior, Vilmer and Lucner, who are all still off working on their continued education in New York, Indiana and Port-au-Prince) and students are so thankful to be back together and living in community again, our VP's are a perfect fit, and most everyone seems rested.

Many of our students have shrunk over the month and the kitchen staff is working to fill them out a bit again!  The security staff has new shirts (thank you Lauren!!) and two of our staff and two of our students got married over break!

Things have jumped back into full swing with no major hitches, and I love hearing the sounds of questions and answers, study and sharing again...soccer in the evenings, laughter throughout work study time, meal bells.  It is always better living in community.
Larry Lain, second time VP and missionary kid from Haiti, is working with second year through the General Epistles...in Creole!
Miss Pam has joined us from England for the umpteenth time, teaching Apocalyptic Literature to fourth year with Simeon's help.

Dr. Jerry Caskey is in his 13th year of teaching at Emmaus, this year helping first year through the Synoptic Gospels with Leme's translation.

Dr. Brent Sleasman is joining us for his second time as well, teaching Homiletics (the art of preaching) to our third year class with Elio's help and with one of his own students from Gannon University of Erie, PA, in tow, working on a research project on translation.

It's a joy to be in the middle of excellent and Godly VPs, hungry and active students and faithful and hardworking staff, bringing them all together and then sitting back to give Him Glory!
Meanwhile on the home front, Lily is loving being back at school (truly!  what a miracle :) and Sofie girl is back to loving her mornings with Gertha or Micheline.  Though Boone continues to be a butt-biter and turns small animals (this week, a chicken) into toys...the girls sure do love him, and he sure is good with them and continues to be great security for all of EBS.
he even gives their dolls rides.
Yesterday, the first of the kids joined us!  EBS currently has 8 pregnant goats, and these little guys were born yesterday...Oreo and Sleepyhead (who you cannot see, because she is sleeping behind her brother).  The kids are all thrilled, as you can imagine.

Blessed by new days,
a Faithful God,
and all your support and prayers.
